What is your cancellation policy?

How often should I come to therapy?

The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Typically, clients start with weekly sessions and adjust the frequency as progress is made. We will work together to determine the best schedule for you.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential. I adhere to strict ethical and legal guidelines to ensure your privacy. There are a few exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if mandated by law.

What should I do if I have an emergency?

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 000 or go to the nearest emergency room. You can also contact Lifeline at 13 11 14.

How do I prepare for my first session?

It can be helpful to think about what you want to achieve in therapy and any specific issues you want to discuss. Feel free to bring any notes or questions you have. Arriving a few minutes early can also help you feel more relaxed and ready for the session.

What should I do if I need to talk between sessions?

If you have an urgent issue between sessions, you can contact me by phone or email. I will respond as soon as possible within my business hours. For emergencies, please refer to the emergency contact instructions provided.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be beneficial for anyone seeking to improve their mental health, navigate life's challenges, or gain better self-understanding. If you're unsure, we can schedule an initial consultation to discuss your concerns and determine if therapy is a good fit for you.

How do you handle issues of diversity and inclusion?

I strive to create a safe, inclusive environment for all clients, respecting and affirming diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences. I am committed to ongoing education and cultural competence to better serve everyone.

What if I can't afford therapy?

White Lotus Therapy offers a sliding scale. A sliding scale payment system adjusts the cost of therapy sessions based on an individual's income and financial situation. This approach aims to make therapy more accessible by offering reduced rates to those who need financial assistance.

How do I know if I qualify for the sliding scale?

To qualify for the sliding scale, you will typically need to provide information about your income, employment status, and any financial hardships. Our office will review this information to determine your eligibility and the appropriate session fee.
